Memorial Structure was created in 2015. It is made of wood and is 7.14m long x 5.24m wide and 3.1m high. It was created as a space for contemplation, recollection and reminiscence - decorated inside using techniques developed over the past 30 years. Reliefs and sculptural carvings in Robert Koenig's distinctive, imaginative style tackle themes of migration, displacement, loss, discrimination, fear and collective responsibility. The Memorial Structure was commissioned by the 20-21 Visual Arts Centre in Scunthorpe and was supported by the National Lottery though funding from Arts Council England. The exhibition ran from 24 October 2015 until 20 February 2016.
